SUPER TECHIES

Hi, My Name is Vaishali Jain. I am from Delhi. I am here to present a solution for designing a technology framework for Gram Udyami the next generation Rural E-Infopreneur.

India is one of the largest populated economy with rural population of about 833.4 million citizens. It is an open ended challenge to work in rural area where the mind set of citizens are different than those in Urban areas.

But the Rural market has high volume of customers providing a large market base for potential entrepreneurs.  For this, First of all, there is a need to collect possible data and then providing the resources as per their taste and demand.

(A)   The Constraint first arose for this is Collection of Data. Rural India has a potential source to provide massive data. It could be accomplished through various possible ways:

1)      Collecting  all relevant information from local Schools, Colleges, Hospitals and various operating  NGO’s about the total number of students, males, females, death rate, birth rate, sex ratio, common diseases, education rate, requirements of locals, income of locals, basic need in the village etc.

2)      Conducting Door to Door survey’s through authenticated E-Infopreneur gathering information about their income, work and lifestyle.

3)      Checking out all middlemen associated in the region for the work done by locals.

4)      Automated Weather Devices could be used to know about the weather conditions and Associated livelihood.

(B)   INCENTIVE PROGRAM:
Collecting data is the most important task and is the most difficult one as well. To ensure quick completion of campaign, some percentage of incentive should be given to persons conducting surveys. Also, it is important that local who provide data should be kept motivated and intact. Thus they should be given some nice schemes such as discount coupons which they can avail while buying groceries.

(C)   TECHNOLOGY:
After collection of such data, it would be easy to trace the implementation of required Technological base in the region. Technological Advancements such as providing farmers with automated tools to detect the fertility of soils, Developing an app forecasting the weather conditions and also describing the estimate harvesting time of crops,  Connecting directly to rural areas using mobile and internet technology, Using solar devices and Irrigation plants to support modern and advance techniques of agriculture.

(D)   AGGREGATION AND ANALYTICS:
Information collected should be aggregated and put into in high secured database. Such database is very useful for further analysis to establish a parity of demand and supply in Rural Region. It could help in establishing a competitive edge and would prove to be beneficial in achieving the ultimate target of the company i.e. Understanding the Rural Market Place and setting a market share.

Few points that need to be considered in this entire framework are as follows:

1)      Data collected should be properly authenticated and should be protected from various threats

2)      Technological advancement in Rural is a challenge as Rural customers are of different mind sets. So, to overcome these problems, various workshops and camps should be organised explaining and motivating them to be techie-friendly.

3)      There should be a chain of hierarchy through which sensitive information passes. It would also help to establish accountability and reporting mechanism.

4)      In rural India, there must be some resistance to change, it should be handled very carefully keeping in mind sentiments of locals.

I hope I did justice to the problem offered.
Thank you for this opportunity.
